After 7 years at Elstead Village Tennis Club Jorge Martin is stepping down and we would like to thank Jorge for his many years of service. He has been a wonderful Coach and will be missed.
Rest Assured
Our Coaching Programme will continue and we already have a plan in place. We have secured an excellent new Head Coach whom we are confident is going to give the Programme a well needed boost of enthusiasm, solid commitment and fresh new ideas and coaching strategies. All in line with the LTA’s approved techniques and progressions.
Our Youth Programme is about to get stellar!!
Welcome back Douglas!
Douglas Barker, who started to play tennis at the age of 4 at Elstead VTC; and where his love for tennis began; will be coming back to the club in the position of Head Coach at the start of the new term in September.
After competing in County and Regional events as a junior player, Douglas qualified as a PTR ‘Pro’ level qualified tennis coach and a LTA Level 3 Accredited + Tennis Coach. (BSC Hons – Sport and Exercise Science, Leeds University).
He is enthusiastic about helping players of all ages improve their abilities and enjoy their tennis. Douglas is especially passionate about developing the next generation of players. He is excited to be returning to Elstead where it all began for him to inspire a new generation of young tennis players.
